My name is Lincoln Robertson. I am a High School Math and Statistics Teacher at Lin-Wood Public School. I have had many jobs over the years but I keep coming back to my first love, teaching. I have worked as a raft guide, a ski instructor, a carpenter's helper in the Arctic, a boss, and a bike mechanic. I have pumped gass (full time over 40 years ago), made shakes at Friendly's and stocked shelves at Hannaford in Keene. I have lived and worked in Egypt and traveled as much as possible. I have also spent over 30 years of my life as a teacher. Teaching is my passion. Helping students prepare for success, whether it be in the service, the trades, college, or even a life as a raft guide and ski instructor is what I am good at and what I love to do.
I also have a wife and two kids, all three of whom are more impressive, smarter, and more interesting than I. You will hear me talk about them in my classes more than once. I also have two dogs (Big Dog and Black Dog).
My Education and Professional Background:
I have a BS in Math from Hobart College (Class of '88), I spent two years in the Math Department at UMASS/Amherst working on a MS in Math before switching to the Education Department where I finished with a M.Ed. in Math Education. I have taken many courses in the years since: Kayaking, Pottery, Math and Statistics Teaching Methods, Swift Water Rescue Instructor Certification, WFR at Solo in North Conway, and am currently taking a Spanish Class with a group of friends in the North Country.
