Officer Betsy Scrafford, SRO/LPD
Hello! My name is Officer Betsy Scrafford. I am the School Resource Officer (SRO) for Lin-Wood Public School and an Officer for the Lincoln Police Department. I grew up in New York and came to New Hampshire as a college student. I fell in love with the New Hampshire way of life and decided to make this my home. I love to spend my free time hiking, kayaking, playing with my dog and just in general enjoying the outdoors. When the weather gets bad, I like to retreat to my garage where I do some woodworking.
I’m excited to be working with the staff, students and parents at Lin-Wood Schools. I’ve been doing police work for a long time and felt that it was time to give back. I love the Lincoln and Woodstock Community and thought the best way to accomplish that goal was to become the School Resource Officer. I love working with the students at all levels and educating them about what it means to be a responsible citizen and community member.
My Education and Professional Background:
I graduated from Plymouth State College with a Bachelors in Environmental Science with a Minor in Earth Science and Chemistry. I started police work in 1999 at Plymouth State College and later transferred to the Town of Plymouth where I spent a majority of my career. During that time I returned to Plymouth State University to complete my Masters in Biology.
During my long career I have held a number of different positions and roles. These have included instructing Taser and Firearms to other officers, Sergeant, Juvenile Officer, Community Relations Officer, Prosecutor, Training Officer, SWAT operator and a number of other small roles. I have also completed the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Associations Leadership Trilogy which includes the Supervisor, Command and Executive Leadership Institute. I am also a member of the Linwood Ambulance Service.
