Michael Hamlin, Paraprofessional
My name is Michael Hamlin. I am a Paraprofessional at Lin-Wood Public School. I happened on the Paraprofessional job because it was suggested by a friend. I had two kids at the time getting ready to enter the school system and I thought it would be great to work in the same school and have the same hours as them. I decided I enjoyed working with children and have been at the school ever since. I like helping children grow and learn. I love those moments when you help a student and you can see them grasp the concept that is being taught. Although grades can be important, I am most interested in the social and emotional learning for students.
My Education and Professional Background:
I went to Mount Desert Island High School and graduated in 2007. I studied Criminal Justice and Psychology at Husson University in Bangor, Maine. I started as a K-5 Paraprofessional at Lin-Wood in 2017.
