Hello Lin-Wood Community,
My name is Léo Souza and I am excited to be joining the Lin-Wood School District this year! I currently teach French (grades 6-12) and English as a Second Language (ESL) (grades K-12).

I love being a Foreign Language Teacher because it allows me to use my skills and passion first-hand in the classroom- which is one of my most favorite environments to be apart of due to the collaboration, creativity and success that as a teacher, allows me to view directly. I started learning Foreign Languages from the age of 7 and knew right at that young age  that I wanted to be a Foreign Language Teacher!

During University, I lived in some really cool places such as Chambéry, France and Shanghai, China and having those experiences really allows me to showcase the cultural aspects of the respected Foreign Language to each student that takes my class. I show the students that a Foreign Language is more than just literature or syntax, it is a tool that opens many doors to many different careers and pathways in life! Being a Teacher is the most rewarding position that I have ever had since I am able to use my two passions: Education and Foreign Language in a unique and exciting arena.

My Education and Professional Background:
I currently hold a B.A (Magna cum Laude) from Framingham State University  where I majored in French/Mandarin Chinese with a minor in Diversity Studies. As stated above,  I have studied abroad in Chambery, France (Université Savoie Mont Blanc) and Shanghai University in (Shanghai, China).

Before finding myself in the Education field, I was a Hotelier for a leading luxury brand where I worked to manage the Front Office with other responsibilities that included using my language skills and expertise in a fast-paced business environment. Before that, I had a long span in Human Services where I held many titles, most recently, Residential Program Manager where I managed and taught individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a Group Home setting. I am also a Part-Time faculty member at a leading Language Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts where I instruct French, Mandarin, and ESL.

I am really honored to bring my passion and expertise to the Lin-Wood community and building on my teaching career!
